Its unique, 26MP full frame sensor is wrapped in a fairly plasticky (though still weather sealed) body, and it makes do with some compromises compared to its full-frame Canon kin - we should stress, though, that this is to be expected given its substantial $1300 discount compared to the 5D Mark IV. And don't be so dismissive of increased DR or better AF systems until you actually try them. You’re travelling and you probably don’t want to be lugging around a lot of gear. Yes, Sony is selling less cameras than Nikon yet their no. really? keeeping this in mind, there's no other brand (besides nikon, but i do have the canon glasses) offering this service. I have the 5D Mark II (+ 50D for crop lenses) and with the 6D Mark II I got basically the same image quality. the crop of camera X makes it look like twice the focal length, even though its this way only because camera X has a smaller sensor, so it practically crops the frame. (Didn't it used to?) Camera Construction and Handling. Canon EOS 6D + 50mm @ 50mm, ISO 100, 1/1000, f/5.6. :)Anyway, my point is that most buyers completely reply on review sites to buy high end cameras and lens because there is simply no place to try themselves.I was about to buy 6D2, but DP's review changed my decision. And the compromises in the 6D II are largely the same as those made by the 6D before it: The larger sensor is offset by a lower-spec autofocus system borrowed from the EOS 80D, a lack of 4K video, and a shutter mechanism that tops out at 1/4000 sec, to name a few. I and my customers don't need or want technical revolutions with perhaps dubious results. I don't think there are downsides on this camera, as mentioned. The vloggers who really want FF, this is great start if also good lenses are needed. If you want the size benefits of a mirrorless camera, go buy one of those and stay away from any full frame DSLR. Spent hours calibrating lenses and still have inconsistant focusing at lower aperatures. With camera companies starting to force you to add a grip to get the full functionality of the camera, it won't be long before mirrorless cameras weigh as much as DSLRs., once you add a grip and a G Master lens. If Canon gave the 6D2 those three things there would be no reason for anyone to buy a 5DIV. CIPA's latest report for global camera shipments shows the camera industry is gaining pace once again in a year marred by the COVID-19 pandemic atop a market already in decline. Everyone delivers that, that's the problem. This camera is extremely lightweight. It weighs just 1.87 pounds, which isn't bad for a full day of shooting with a full frame DSLR. when using camera X at 5 meters from the subject with lens Z, you will have the same depth of field with camera Y with lens Z at 2.5 metes away from the subject. You won't regret! I do not shoot birds or sports so much where the 7DII have maybe the higher gorund.Anyways very positively surprised on 6DII after low score reviews. The 6 D one and two both have much more possibilities for (semi)professional use. Then and only then, is it time to make a really good upgrade. how much did canon pay you for commenting here ? Typical DPR pixel peeper. For that money, it's a good deal: https://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/2017/11/bh-super-hot-6d-ii-grip-printer-sandisk-2-x-battery-1349-ar/, https://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/2017/11/adorama-super-hot-price-mistake-6d-mark-ii-1349-ar-5d-mark-iv-2849-ar-free-grip-free-pixma-pro-100-free-battery/, I very much liked the review, and also my 6D... but ultimately the chart on the first page tells it all. And back then, it was understood very well, in the US, that ordering the gear from NYC stores would be less expensive than purchasing say a Nikon F4, or whatever the Canon equivalent was, than buying the same gear at the store in Minneapolis. I think that the image quality is great but I have major issues with the autofocus. DJI's second-generation Pocket camera includes a long list of useful upgrades including a wider, faster lens, a larger sensor, more resolution, improved audio and an optional handle that significantly improves control and supports live streaming. There are a lot of photo/video cameras that have found a role as B-cameras on professional productions or A-camera for amateur and independent productions. MIOPS has announced Flex, a new smart camera gadget designed to make it easy and simple to capture lightning strikes, action images, holy grail timelapse videos and much more. Also it's nice that you've like TOTALLY missed my point. Canon will be perfectly fine. Back in 2013, after the 6D mkI was released, Canon probably started trending sales of both the 6D and the 5DIII. It can't be that wrong. I am the daddy wants to shoot pro-like pictures of my kids, shoot a little video of them starting to walk, doing something funny etc. But it does it no better than the original 6D, and until ISO 400, worse than the crop sensor 80D, both of which cost substantially less. Now, as the year winds down, we're highlighting some of our standout products of the year. So I was expecting canon 6D MII to give me a recent and FF AF system, better LW AF system, tilting LCD, better IQ on an affordable upgrade price.
